AWS doubles sorting plant size as it rebuilds after last year's fire
March 25, 2010
Rebuilding of the AWS Eco Plastics bottle sorting facility near Caenby Corner on the A631 in Lincolnshire has started, with a structure that will double the size of the building destroyed by fire at the end of August last year. The new building is 9,000 m², with an eaves height of over 16 m – and is split into three fire zones, each with their own fire protection. The company says it will become the "largest and most technologically advanced plastic bottle recycling facility in Europe".
AWS expects to start installing equipment in the next couple of months, and to begin operations in the summer.
