K2007 PREVIEW
This month we turn British Plastics & Rubber over to a preview of the K2007 exhibition being held in Germany at the end of October.
While the preview will hopefully be of value to readers going to the show as a pointer to some of the exhibitors they may need to visit, it also gives a resumé for those not making the trip of what is new in materials and equipment. At least, it is a resumé of some of what is new. Of necessity with a show spanning some 2,914 exhibitors from 52 countries we can only scratch the surface of what will be on offer. Hopefully we have scratched up the right things for you.
We have focused on things rather than concepts. That is to say, the preview concentrates on new materials and equipment, and we have had to let pass the displays of well-established competence that will be mounted by many companies. As a rule of thumb, if you are involved in the automotive, packaging, medical, white goods, telectronics and other mainstream sectors you can expect a thorough grounding in the latest technologies by visiting any of the major polymer producers whose names you recognise.
To put the welter of information into some sort of order our preview starts with materials and additives, goes through compounding and materials handling, then into the main conversion processes and finishes with finishing and testing, and finally recycling.
We hope you find it useful.
This preview in print is essentially the same as our on-line preview of the exhibition, but with added pictures and, of course, in magazine format.
