WELDING
Download this section (375 KB)
Computer simulation of laser welding.
As laser welding of plastics becomes more widely used it becomes correspondingly important to know just what is happening - or what should be happening - in the weld. DuPont Engineering Polymers and TWI (formerly The Welding Institute) have got together to devise a computer model of the laser welding process. S D Rostami, I A Jones (TWI) and C Norrey (DuPont Engineering Polymers) describe the work.
