PolymerLibrary - an extensive database of published information summaries from Rapra Technology.
Every day the information you can retrieve from the internet becomes more extensive - and consequently more difficult and complex to find. Rapra Technology has simplified the search for information on plastics and rubbers in its PolymerLibrary. This is a database of more than 725,000 comprehensively indexed summaries of published literature covering technical, academic, commercial and marketing aspects of the plastics and rubber industries, drawn from more than 500 journals, as well as conference papers, patents, specifications and standards, books, press releases, company literature, data sheets and directories.
The database is fully searchable and access to it is available on subscription at a rate that competes well with time wasted in ever more complex internet searches.

IDES is a database supplier holding some 55,000 data sheets on plastics from more than 470 suppliers. You can search for a material from this page with the input box on the right, which uses a cut-down internet version of the Prospector programme.
You can search by material type, manufacturer, trade name and if you get the keywords right, application. You will be presented with a list of materials in the database matching your query, and you can download summary data sheets relating to them. For the full data you obviously need to buy the product. Results are largely US-oriented.
